How long does it take to get your first aid certificate

You can not do a First Aid Course online because over 2/3rds of it is practical. You have to go to a place where they teach First Aid courses. First Aid certificates usually take a week if not more to get printed and handed out. It depends on how long your First Aid course is. Mine was 11 hours long and I got my certificate in a week.

I will answer the second question first: no, you can not do it online.
You can usually find someone who will teach CPR & First Aid in one 8-hour class (sometimes shorter, depending on class size). American Heart Association classes are good for 2 years. Red Cross is good for 3 (I think).
You can ask your local health department, fire department, EMS agency, or hospital for a class. If they're not having one, they will surely know someone who is!

Well I work in a daycare and I get first aide and CPR..we break ours down to a 3 hour class for First Aid & I am certified for 3 years. For CPR we break it down to a 1.5 hour class and we are certified each year. I think it all depends on the trainer and what your using it for.

It depends on how in depth you want to go. I am in girl scout and i spent about 4 hours so far and i just have to take a CPR course and i will be done.
